My name is Noora and I come from a town in Finland called Hollola. However, I have spent most of my student life in Tampere.

I have graduated with an electrical engineering degree from Tampere University of Technology with a major in Biomedical Electronics and a minor in languages. My studies have given me a wide understanding in the biomedical field.

Previously I have worked for my BSc project in VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland for the section of Medical Device Technology. I did my Master thesis at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland with a topic on superconductivity and especially magnet quench. Both of these projects included programming for a test application with the help of LabVIEW.

In addition to living in Geneva for a year, I have also spent a year in Australia and am used to working in multicultural environments.

I never imagined living in Italy but found the position description so interesting that I decided to apply for it and so it goes that I started working for Fondazione Santa Lucia (Rome) in November 2012 as an Early Stage Researcher. I am looking forward in doing research with functional MRI and doing my part for the SUMMER project and believe it will be very interesting experience.
